Investigation of the effect of creatine in combination with magnesium and vitamin C on the performance of the individual person

Creatine is nitrogen-containing organic acid which naturally occurs in the human body. The aim of this work was to determine the optimal dose of creatine in combination with vitamin C and magnesium for male respondents aged 18-26 years. They were divided into two groups differing in the creatine dosage. Group 1 took smaller dose of creatine (3 g per day) and group 2 higher dose of creatine (10 g per day). Both groups took both magnesium and vitamin C at constant doses throughout the study. The effects of significantly different dose of creatine in the individual groups were compared with each other in terms of the performance of individuals in the powerlifting, the anthropological changes and the overal metabolism of the intakes. In all disciplines of powerlifting, group 1 recorded higher average weight gains, which were not found to be statistically significant at a significance level of alpha 0,05. Anthropological changes were measured using the InBody 160 and a diagnostic measuring tape. In both cases, group 1 recorded better results than group 2, but these results were not statistically significant at a significance level of alpha 0,05. The total metabolism of the accepted dietary supplements was investigated through analytical methods. The urine of each respondent was regularly collected and subsequently analyzed during the research. Determination of creatinine, a creatine waste product, was performed by UV-VIS spectrophotometry using the Jaffe reaction. Vitamin C was analyzed by RP-HPLC. Magnesium was determined by the ICP-OES method. After creatine suplemantion of 3 per day, group 1 showed a slight increase in creatinine in the urine, but still in the physiological range. At the significance level alpha 0,05 there was no statistically significant difference. Group 2 showed an increase above the physiological limit which was already a statistically significant difference. Overall, creatine supplementation of 3 g per day has been found as a sufficient intake of creatine needed to build up muscle mass, increase energy metabolism and overall physical performance. The metabolization itself works very well and within the physiological values.
Food supplements in strength sports

In this bachelor's thesis on Dietary Supplements in Strength Sports, I investigated whether elite athletes are able to consume sufficient nutrients without dietary supplements and what types of dietary supplements are used by strength athletes. I chose the respondents from three branches of strength sports, those sports are power triathlon, strongman sport and weightlifting. These are the leading athletes in these sectors in the Czech Republic and they are able to outline to me the topic of taking dietary supplements. The theoretical part is focused on the nutrition of athletes. In each section I have discussed a description of strength sports, including the history of strength sports, then I have discussed macronutrients, micronutrients and also the issue of dietary supplements, where I have described the history of dietary supplements and also their distribution. In the theoretical part I drew from books and professional journals. For the practical part of the thesis I set three objectives. The first objective was to map what types of dietary supplements are used by strength athletes, the second objective was to map what amounts of dietary supplements are used by strength athletes, and the third objective was to determine if a regular and complete diet provides the necessary amount of energy and individual nutrients. Ten athletes participated in my research, 9 men and 1 woman. I obtained data from them through a semi-structured interview and from their dietary records. The results show that the respondents are taking 10 types of supplements and 6 out of 10 respondents are able to take sufficient energy from their regular diet. The dietary analysis shows that respondents prefer a diet higher in fat and protein at the expense of carbohydrates, where a higher proportion of fat in the diet reduces the amount of food needed to meet the respondents' energy needs. It can also be observed that respondents do not place much emphasis on fibre intake.
Verification of functionality of the training plan in powerlifting to improve benchpress

In my thesis I'll focus on one of three disciplines in powerlifting. Specifically bench press. Aim of this thesis is confirmation of Smolov jr. training plan. Which is different from other training plans thanks to it's short term. Lasting only three weeks. Despite that I was able to find multiple articles, in which the author describes his own experience, introduces reader with the training plan and reports progress up to 10 Kg in the discipline. The research will be conducted by direct testing of the plan on a group of probands, including me. The resoult of which will be comparing of input and output values - like bodyweight, chest and arms circumference and of course maximal bench press performance per one repetition. Eva Kejhová Title of the bachelor thesis: Compensatory exercise for powerlifting athletes Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of using compensatory exercise for powerlifting competitors. In the theoretical part compensatory exercise, powerlifting, the biomechanics of its individual disciplines, injuries in powerlifting and deep stabilization system was described. The practical part includes case reports of two patients. The target group consist of male competitors in powerlifting. Two patients, with pain in the low back area, were participating in total seven weeks of therapy. The therapy occurred one to two times a week. The results were evaluated on the basis of subjective score of pain and objectively using tests on deep stabilization system by Kolář. PhysioSensing was used as another objective method to evaluate the results, where static analysis, limits of stability and weight distribution on the lower limbs at different degrees of flexion in the knee joints was measured. Prevention of development of functional vertebragenous disorders among powerlifter community

This bachelor's thesis deals with the options of prevention of development of functional vertebragenous disorders among the powerliftting community. The main purpose of this thesis was to propose a model of a therapy focusing on prevention of development of functional vertebragenous disorders, that remain one of the most common form of injury among powerlifters. Another purpose of this thesis was to examine the efficiency of this therapy by comparing the results gathered during the preand post-therapy assessment. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with spinal anatomy and mechanics. It also discusses the formation of functional disorders, the concept of the potential of the functional capacity, and compares the importance of mobility and stability. The empirical part of my work uses the qualitative research method. Three different subjects were examined and based on the initial assessment, a 4-week-long individual therapy was recommended. The therapy used the concepts from kinesiotherapy and some elements of the manual medicine. The therapy was successful in improving the function of the deep stabilisation spine system and joint mobility. However, the thesis couldn't provide evidence, whether the therapy had positive effect for prevention of the development of functional vertebragenous disorders.

Analysis and comparasion of squat exercise due to surface EMG

ABSTRACT  Title of dissertation: Analysis and comparasion of squat exercise due to surface EMG  Objectives of dissertation: To measure and describe the structure involving specific muscles durring back squat, front squat and smith machine squat exercise.  Method: Surface EMG analysis and simple kinematic analysis.  Results: Activation of m. gluteus maximus was highest after the start of excentric movement. Main muscle working on the chase between the concentric and excentric movement was m. rectus femoris. Very similar timing and synergy were between m. erector spinae and m. biceps femoris. Economics of sport organization Czech Powerlifting Association

The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the current financing of Czech Powerlifting Association with state subsidies by comparison with the Czech Weightlifting Association and to find other financing options for the Czech Powerlifting Assotiation and options of promotion of the sport itself. Currently, the Czech Powerlifting Assotiation is financed by state subsidies and it appears to be insufficient. This bachelor's thesis describes some of the sports marketing tools that should be used to support the financing and to increase the number of competitors operating in powerlifting.
